Miss Earth 2018 pre-pageant set at LGEC

THE LausGroup Event Centre (LGEC) is once again one of the venues of the prestigious Miss Earth International 2018 pre-pageant as the Laus Group of Companies (LGC) and Carousel Productions Inc. (CPI) renewed Thursday, September 20, their partnership for this year’s Swimsuit Parade and Resort Wear Competition.

This is the second time the auto conglomerate and CPI, the official organizer of the pageant, collaborated for the said preliminary round dubbed as one of the most exciting activities the pageant hopefuls will participate in, prior to the grand coronation night on November 3.

During the contract signing of the memorandum of agreement, LGC Executive Director Carisa Laus said they are very privileged to reaffirm their tie-up and that they are looking forward to supporting the pageant’s numerous endeavors and causes.

“We are really happy that we are again chosen as one of Miss Earth’s sponsors. We are proud to welcome the latest batch of international candidates and show them what the LGEC and the province of Pampanga is all about,” she said.

Carrying the theme “Goddesses of the Earth,” Miss Earth 2018 will be the 18th edition of Miss Earth pageant. Karen Ibasco, reigning Ms. Earth, will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Ms. Earth Philippines Silvia Celeste Cortesi, who is also present during yesterday’s formalities, noted that she is honored to represent the country and at the same time, grace the centerstage of LGEC with other candidates from Group 1.

“I first saw the venue during the time I was vying for Ms. Philippines-Earth 2018 just last April. I’m so thrilled to be back,” the Filipino-Italian beauty, who was also hailed as Miss LausGroup Lady 2018 relayed.

“Now, I feel more empowered than ever to share my advocacy regarding human values and the importance of how we respect mother nature. I am committed to win the title and I will do my best to make my Filipino countrymen proud,” she added.

CPI conceptualized, organized, and launched Miss Earth in 2001 as a competition that channels the beauty pageant industry as an effective tool in promoting significant projects and addressing issues concerning the environment, among others.

Today, it continues to build its reputation as the most relevant and worthwhile beauty pageant in world, setting a legacy of beauty and responsibility.
